U18s | Young Anchors breeze through into next round of FA Youth Cup

Stockton Town Under-18’s progressed into the next round of the FA Youth Cup with an emphatic 8-1 win at Kendal Town.

Jaedon Faulkner opened the scoring in the 24th minute, after great work from Chuka Unigwe who drove to the by-line and cut a perfect ball across the goalmouth for Faulkner to meet.

Two minutes later, the Anchors made it two when Joe Kennedy showed great strength to carry the ball through midfield, eventually unleashing a strike with his left-foot which found the bottom corner.

Stockton were awarded a penalty in the 38th minute when Jaedon Faulkner was hacked to ground. Faulkner stepped up and slotted into the corner for his second of the afternoon.

Paddy Davis’ side were awarded a second penalty on the stroke of half-time when Joe Kennedy was swiped by the legs of the goalkeeper, which Faulkner took and converted, despite a touch from the goalkeeper, to secure his hat-trick.

Another moment of magic in opening stages of the second-half saw centre-back Ini Kasim drive up the pitch, eventually playing a smart one-two, before curling a wonderful strike out of the goalkeeper’s reach to add a fifth for Stockton.

Kendal did manage to pull one back from a corner, which proved as nothing but a consolation.

Five minutes from time, substitute Xander Hunt slotted a finish under the goalkeeper to make the scoreline 6-1.

Two minutes later, a seventh was added when a great cross by Louca Cooke was tapped in by Joe Kennedy for his second of the game.

As the referee was ready to blow for full-time, Jayden Pinnegar marked his name on the scoresheet with a good finish from inside the box, as the game ended 8-1.

The Young Anchors now await the visit of Darlington’s u18’s on the week commencing 15th September. More information will be released as we receive it.
