The First Words: Jake Petitjean

Jake Petitjean has spoken after rejoining Stockton Town as our second addition of the summer.

The creative midfielder opened by exclaiming his delight on his return: “I am very happy to rejoin the club. I’ve been keeping an eye on their progress for years and it’s so exciting to see how far they’ve come and hopefully now play my part in progressing further.”

Jake spent nearly two years with the Anchors from early 2017 to late 2018 after making the step up from our U18’s, and will now rejoin to a number of familiar faces from that stint: “A lot has certainly changed since I was last here, but it is very nice to see so many familiar faces, and that will make a big difference both on and off the pitch to hit the ground running.”

Petitjean was part of the Newton Aycliffe squad that played against the Anchors three times across the past two seasons, including an FA Trophy encounter back in October 2024, which he looks back on by saying: “It was a super tough game for Aycliffe, but playing at the stadium definitely felt good. You could feel the support from the fans, even from the opposition. I’m excited to experience those fans from the other perspective again.”

He closes by explaining what he will bring to the Stockton Town team, for supporters who may not be familiar with his game: “I am a very competitive player. I want to win every game I play, and I do that by getting into the box and score and create as many goals as I possibly can.”
