It was today announced that Stockton Town Ladies have secured promotion to the North East Regional Women’s Football League Division One North for the 2025/26 season – the sixth tier in the Women’s football pyramid.
The Anchoresses finished third in the 24/25, winning 14 out of 20 games, tallying 43 points, and scoring goals for fun week-in-week-out.
This promotion marks an incredible milestone for the club’s development and reflects the hard work and dedication shown throughout the season.
The Anchoresses will now face off against teams such as Hartlepool United and Redcar Town, who the Ladies beat in the Women’s FA Cup last season.
Ladies team Manager Chris Murphy spoke on the promotion by saying: “This promotion is a fantastic reward for the effort, resilience, and progress we’ve made as a team over the past season. Every single player has contributed to getting us to this point, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.
From day one, the goal was to grow, develop, and challenge ourselves, and to now be stepping up into the North East Regional Women’s Football League is a huge achievement for the club.
It’s taken a lot of hard work behind the scenes too, and I want to thank everyone involved. From our coaching staff, committee members, supporters, and, most importantly, the players who gave everything for the badge.
We know there will be new challenges ahead, but we’re excited and ready to take them on. This is a big step for Stockton Town Ladies, and we’re only just getting started.”
Coach James Garvey also followed by stating: “I’m absolutely delighted for the players and everyone connected to the club. This promotion is a reflection of the commitment, graft, and passion that’s been on display all season.
We’ve pushed each other every step of the way, kept standards high, and the squad has shown real character through every challenge thrown at them. It’s been a pleasure to watch the team grow and evolve into a group ready for the next level.
Stockton Town Ladies is more than just a team. It’s a family, and this achievement belongs to everyone involved. I couldn’t be prouder to see us take this next step, and I’m excited for what’s to come in the North East Regional Women’s Football League.
Thank you to the players, staff, supporters, and everyone behind the scenes. The hard work doesn’t stop here – this is only the beginning of what we aim to achieve.”
