Club Statement

Stockton Town FC wishes to update our supporters regarding an administrative issue identified following our recent Northern Premier League fixture.

After the fixture against Warrington Rylands, the club became aware that a player who had reached the threshold of five cautions – and was therefore due to serve a one-match suspension – was mistakenly included in the matchday squad. This was an internal administrative oversight, and the club takes full responsibility for the error.

In line with competition rules, we have informed the FA and the Northern Premier League and are cooperating fully with their review process. The league will now assess the matter and determine the appropriate outcome.

We want to reassure our supporters that this was an honest mistake, identified quickly, and the club has acted immediately to prevent any recurrence. Following this incident, an internal investigation is in progress and robust new checks, fail-safes and reporting procedures have been implemented. In addition, internal personnel changes have been made to strengthen our governance and ensure our operations continue to meet the standards expected at this level.

Stockton Town FC prides itself on professionalism on and off the pitch, and we remain committed to operating with transparency and integrity at all times.

We will update supporters once the FA and the league have concluded their review. Thank you for your continued backing of the club.
