RIP Paul Beards- Anchors Resident Statistician

Stockton Town were saddened to learn about the recent passing of long term supporter Paul Beards.

Paul was a dedicated supporter of the football club from our very first season in the Teesside League back in 2009. He was also the resident statistician and could be seen with his clipboard which held all the appearances and goalscorers.. Paul also developed our very first programmes which he produced and printed himself, again these were jam packed with stats. Paul travelled all over the country following the Anchors and is an embodiment of a proper Non League football fan.

Commenting on Paul’s passing, Chairman Martin Hillerby said: “I firmly believe we wouldn’t be the football club we are today without the contribution and loyalty of people like Paul.”

Paul’s funeral will take place on Monday 30th March at 10.30am at the Bluebell Chapel in Stockton Crematorium for any supporters wishing to show their condolences.

We will mark the memory of Paul with a minute’s applause ahead of our next home game on Good Friday with the visit of Gainsborough Trinity.
