Painter was signed in summer 2022, arriving from National League North side Blyth Spartans. The midfielder, who can also play in defence at right back, was with the Anchors youth set up before heading to Football League club Grimsby Town.
The midfielder went on to sign a professional contract aged 18, also moving out on loan to Lincolnshire-based Spalding United, of the Northern Premier League, for three months in 2020. At just 21-years-old, Painter has bags of ability, and brings a lot of versatility and energy to the Stockton team.
