Stockton Town were knocked out of the Isuzu FA Trophy after a first-half comeback from Clitheroe.
Stockton opened up a two-goal lead, but were stunned by a 10-minute spell that had the hosts ahead at the break.
Despite a late red card, the hosts shut down any pressure in added time with a fourth.
Michael Dunwell had a limit to his squad, naming three Under-18 standouts, Seb Waller, Michael Smith and Chuka Unigwe to his bench.
Within five minutes, Clitheroe were awarded a penalty for a handball inside the box, but Veron Parny struck the post with his spot kick.
This livened the Anchors up, encouraging them to find the target after 14 minutes when Josh Scott twisted and turned, eventually firing a strike across by body which flew past James McClenaghan.
Scott nearly had a second a couple of minutes later, when he found space on the right-wing, but saw his effort from a tight angle well saved by the ‘keeper this time around.
Stockton had a second through a moment of pure excellence from Jamie Bramwell. The defender received the ball outside of the box, eventually firing a rocket of a half-volley perfectly into the top corner.
Veron Parny pulled one back for the hosts, driving in from the right hand side and firing past Nathan Harker to give the Blues some life.
In added time of the half-time, Clitheroe found themselves level when Parny again cut inside, unselfishly playing across to Joshua Briggs who fired home from close range.
But only two minutes later, the home side found the lead when Luke Gill buried a solo effort after working hard to create space for himself.
Half-time: Clitheroe 3-2 Stockton Town
Early in the first half, Chuka Unigwe entered the action to make his Stockton Town debut.
Nathan Harker pulled off a brilliant save to meet a strike in the top corner, which was followed by a dangerous scissor kick that flew wide.
Clitheroe went down to 10-men after 80 minutes when full-back Dwyer was dismissed for a second yellow card.
Despite 10 minutes of additional time, it was Clitheroe who found the crucial sixth goal, when Nathan Harker had a moment to forget, spilling a weak effort from Ben Jackson into his net which sealed the tie.
Full-time: Clitheroe 4-2 Stockton Town
