Stockton Town 2-3 FC United of Manchester | 7th March 2026
Michael Dunwell was forced into two changes to the starting lineup, with Arjun Purewal and Vinnie Steels given the chance.
Kevin Hayes was first to test the opposition with a half-volley, but the effort had too much power and failed to trouble the goalkeeper.
Moments later, Nathan Harker denied an FC United chance with a great save from inside the area.
Vinnie Steels won the ball back high, and whipped a dangerous cross into the middle, but it avoided a yellow shirt.
The visitors continue to press throughout the first half, but Harker once again proved difficult to beat, producing an incredible one-handed save to keep the scores goalless.
However, the breakthrough soon arrived for Stockton, as Josh Scott successfully opened the scoring to give Stockton a 1–0 lead, with Arjun Purewal nodding down a cross which Scott powered home on the half-volley.
Half-time: Stockton Town 1-0 FC United of Manchester
Stockton began the second-half eager to maintain the strong performance they showed before the break.
The opening chances of the half fell to the visitors, but their efforts failed, with Adam Le Fondre coming closest with a sliced strike.
Not long after, Josh Scott spotted another opportunity, reaching onto a well-placed cross from Jamie Bramwell and beating the snoozing defender to the ball to double Stockton’s lead.
Scott nearly had his hat-trick moments later as he rose for a header, but the effort was somehow cleared off the line by Adam Sudworth.
The visitors found a goal back through a Donald Chimalilo header, against the run of play, giving them a renewed momentum.
But the visitors were forced forward by their immense travelling support, and found a leveller 10 minutes before the close, when Jordan Buckley fired a rocket past Nathan Harker.
Late on, Michael Sweet had a couple of half-chances but couldn’t find the target.
And to add to the late heartbreak, FC United were the ones who found a winner, Buckley again getting the better of his defender to force a header home, and take back all three points.
