The Anchors led in the first half through Amar Purewal’s header, but were pegged back in the second half by Joao Silva’s leveller.

Michael Dunwell named one change to the Starting XI. Stephen Thompson came in for Michael Sweet.

Stockton had a couple of pot shots in the opening exchanges. First from Adam Nicholson, and then from Lewis King.

They then had a big chance when a left wing cross from Owen Gallacher was headed onto the post by Amar Purewal.

Amar Purewal went close again when he was played in on goal but pressure from the defender forced him to knock it wide.

Shortly after the quarter hour mark, Stockton opened the scoring when they attacked down the left and a pin-point cross from Thompson found Amar Purewal who dispatched his header.

Throughout the remainder of the first half, despite Stockton’s control Guiseley had some half chances. Nathan Harker showed safe hands to keep out a close range effort from Jack Emmett.

At the end of the half, Harker was again there to keep out a flicked shot on goal.

Half Time: Guiseley 0-1 Stockton Town

Early in the second half, King went close as he drove an effort wide. Then Petitjean rose highest to meet Cam Painter’s cross but his header went over.

With less than 20 minutes remaining, Guiseley found an equaliser. The ball broke to Silva inside the penalty area and despite getting hands to the ball it went beyond Harker.

Both sides had chances to win it as the game headed towards conclusion. The Anchors cleared a dangerous chance on the line.

At the other end, Joe Cracknell made a superb save to deny Petitjean’s header from point-blank.
