Stockton Town 2-0 Guiseley | 16th September 2025

Goals: Kevin Hayes, 1-0, 26 min; Josh Scott, 2-0, 56 min

The first-half began with a strong attacking intent from the Anchors. Early on, Lewis King threaded a smart pass through to Josh Scott, who fired just wide into the side netting.

Amar Purewal then came close with a header that was cleared off the line and gathered by Guiseley ‘keeper Joe Cracknell.

Stockton continued to pile on the pressure, testing Cracknell again when Jamie Bramwell unleashed a powerful effort from distance.

But the breakthrough came after a Guiseley handball inside the box gave Stockton a penalty. It was converted into the bottom corner by the ever-reliable Kevin Hayes, giving the Anchors a deserved 1-0 lead.

Josh Baggs was next to force a low save from Cracknell, and Scott’s follow-up was also stopped.

Moments later, Lewis King danced past defenders to deliver another teasing ball across goal, but it just evaded Purewal at the far post.

With momentum flowing, Stockton began the second-half with the same intensity. But against the run of play, Guiseley forced Nathan Harker into a stunning diving save to deny Joao Silva a curling strike.

Stockton’s persistence was again rewarded with a second goal. A long-ball forward found Josh Scott, who showed great composure to round the ‘keeper and slot the ball home, doubling the lead and sending the Anchors fans into celebration.

Substitute Jack Spears had a couple of good chances, first having a chance very well blocked from close range, and then missing the bottom corner with a low effort on a fast break.
