Stockton Town 2-2 Hyde United | 16th August 2025

Goals: Jamie Bramwell, 1-0, 17 min; Jake Petitjean, 2-0, 22 min; Jordan Scanlon, 2-1, 36 min; Jack Redshaw, 2-2, 40 min

The Anchors took an early two-goal lead, but were made to settle for a point after a quick-fire double just before the halfway mark.

Michael Dunwell named Jack Spears into the starting lineup, with four under-18 talents taking places onto the bench.

The visitors started strong, with a couple of half-chances to open the game, but nothing to trouble Nathan Harker.

Jack Spears, making his first senior start for the Club, nearly found the target on the 15-minute mark, with a strike from a few yards out well stopped awkwardly by Yusuf Mersin.

But minutes later, the Anchors were ahead when a cross from the right-wing by Stephen Thompson was nodded in by Jamie Bramwell for his second goal in as many games.

Josh Scott almost added a second, when he looped a ball over the goalkeeper, but a trailing defender managed to head wide as it headed towards goal.

But from the following corner, Kevin Hayes delivered a wonderful ball into a dangerous area which went all the way through the middle, eventually being simply tapped in by Jake Petitjean for his second goal of the week.

Nathan Harker was called into action to make some good saves, but he couldn’t stop a controversial goal for Hyde, when the linesman flagged for offside, but Jordan Scanlon ran on as the referee overruled his assistant’s decision, slotting past Harker to give Hyde a key lifeline.

And five minutes before the break, the scores were back level as Jack Redshaw fired home from inside the box.

Half-time: Stockton Town 2-2 Hyde United

Hyde goalkeeper Yusuf Mersin was the hero of the second half for Hyde, he made three incredible saves in the early stages of the half to keep the scores tied.

Nathan Harker at the other end was also called into action a couple of times to keep out some close-ranged opportunities.

Jaedon Faulkner, who was introduced in the second-half, caused problems for Hyde, and played a smart pass into Stephen Thompson who was tripped inside the box as he lined up a shot, but his appeals were waved away.

Nathan Harker was called into another big save in the dying moments, to secure another point in the Anchors tally.
