Stockton Town are hoping for an early Christmas present in their trip to Workington.
Following a goalless draw with Whitby Town last week, the Anchors were meant to head to FC United of Manchester on Tuesday, but foul weather got the better of the ground.
Stockton come into the game on the back of two consecutive clean sheets, with the Whitby stalemate following on from the Durham Cup progression at Dunston, where Michael Dunwell’s side won 1-0 thanks to Adam Nicholson’s goal.
Ryan Barrett will be available for the game after his loan spell was extended for another month.
THE OPPOSITION
Workington will be more than disappointed with their first half of the 2025/26 campaign, currently finding themselves bottom of the league with just 15 points, seven points adrift from safety.
However, the Reds have picked up form as of late, losing just two games since the start of November, coinciding with the appointment of the vastly experienced Billy Barr.
Since their last match against Bamber Bridge, Barr unveiled the signing of defender Isaac Whitehall, who has spent the last decade developing in Blackburn Rovers’ academy.
Luke Ellis shares the club’s current top scorer position with captain Steven Rigg, with both players scoring five each so far this campaign.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Despite meeting just three times in their history, Stockton have scored a whopping 14 goals in their previous meetings, including a 6-0 victory earlier in the season;
