Stockton Town welcome Workington to the MAP Group UK Stadium on Tuesday night for their Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division home opener.
The Anchors are still in search of their first goal of the campaign after playing out a goalless draw at Prescot Cables on Saturday.
They had goalkeeper Nathan Harker to thank for the point, as he made a number of excellent saves to keep Stockton in the contest after they had been reduced to ten men following the bewildering dismissal of Amar Purewal.
THE OPPOSITION
Following the departure of Mark Fell back in April, Workington turned to former manager Darren Edmondson.
He had previously managed the club between 2007 and 2013 — the longest spell for any Workington manager.
Last season, he was the manager of Penrith in the Northern League Division One.
Fresh faces have been brought in to renew the squad. Will McGladdery, Tom Dawson, and Luke Ellis were all brought in from North West Counties outfit Holker Old Boys.
Defender Jack Dickinson arrived from Scottish club Gretna.
The attack has been boosted by the arrival of striker Nathan Reid, who has previous NPL experience at Lancaster City; Sharif Deans, who spent last season at Widnes; and ex-Carlisle United youngster Romeo Park.
The opening day ended in defeat, as they went down to a late goal from Whitby.
Luke Ellis had given the Reds the lead, but they were beaten by second-half goals from Michael Woods and Connor Smith.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
The two clubs met for the first time last season.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES
Looking ahead to Tuesday’s home opener, JD Briggs said:
“Getting in a home game with our fans behind us will be really good, and it will build on a solid start. We just need to turn that draw into a win.
“They (Workington) are going to be a hard-working and industrious team who don’t stop and don’t make it easy.
“We need to produce a similar defensive display but start creating a lot more.”
