Stockton Town return to action when they welcome Guiseley to the MAP Group UK Stadium.
The Anchors had a weekend off due to their early FA Cup exit. Last time out they put in a good performance but had to settle for a point at Whitby Town.
Their last home outing saw a dramatic comeback against Stocksbridge Park Steels. Trailing 2-0 at the break, they came rip-roaring back through Adam Nicholson, Michael Sweet and a freekick from Kev Hayes.
Stockton will be without Stephen Thompson who is away and Jake Petitjean who is out after injuring his ankle against Whitby. On a positive note, Vinnie Steels is in the squad for the first time, and Glen Butterworth returns to the squad following injury.
THE OPPOSITION
Guiseley come off the back of a season where they reached the Play-Off Final in fortunate circumstances. Despite losing their Semi-Final at Stockton Town, an admin faux pas saw them reach the final through default. Despite their luck, they still proceeded to lose the final at Worksop Town.
The Lions have made an indifferent start to this season and currently sit 14th with 10 points from their first eight games. They have just a solitary win on the road- a 2-0 win at Hyde United on 19th August.
On Saturday they came close to shocking South Shields in the FA Cup. They led through Jack Emmett’s first half goal, but the National League North outfit came back through Cedwyn Scott and a stoppage time winner from Cain Sykes

PRE-MATCH QUOTES
Looking ahead to the game, Michael Dunwell said:
“It’s the first time we’ve played them (Guiseley) since that infamous Semi-Final. It’s just another league game, and another to look forward to at home. It will be a tough game, they’ll be wanting to come to keep in touching distance of the Play-Offs.”
