Stockton Town make the trip to Derbyshire for their final league game of the season.Â
The Anchors are facing the world’s oldest football club in Sheffield FC, who they defeated 6-0 in November’s reverse fixture.
Stockton come into the game after five games unbeaten, although their winning streak came to end an last Saturday following a 1-1 draw with Grimsby Borough.
That result coupled with other results meant Stockton Town secured second place for the season. An improvement on last season’s fourth place.
That means Stockton can afford to relax in their final game, however a positive performance would be welcomed to help build momentum ahead of Tuesday’s home Play-Off Semi-Final.

THE OPPOSITION
Sheffield FC have managed to pull away from relegation trouble and can now relax knowing another season at Step Four awaits them.
They recently enjoyed three wins on the bounce which included two impressive wins against Play-Off teams in Hebburn Town at home and Long Eaton United away. They were also responsible for making Shildon’s situation precarious with a 2-1 win at Dean Street.
That run was halted in midweek when they lost 3-1 at home to Worksop Town. Although that was to be expected against the champions.
Connor Cutts and Benni Ndlovu are the ones to watch for Sheffield. Cutts is Sheffield’s top scorer with ten for the season, while Ndlovu has three for the month of April.
PRE-MATCH QUOTES
Looking ahead to Saturday’s game, Dunwell said: “Next week’s game against Sheffield is an opportunity to rest a few players and give others minutes who haven’t featured as much in the last few games and get some match sharpness into them ready for the Play-Offs.
“We will still go there to win the game and finish the regular season on a high.â€
