Stockton Town are back on the road as they make the long trip to face Grimsby Borough.

The Anchors come into the game on the back of three-straight victories. Two dramatic late wins were followed up a relatively straightforward triumph over Ashington.

Michael Fowler got Stockton rolling inside ten minutes with a nice lob over Karl Dryden. It was a long time coming but the second arrived in the final ten minutes as Tom Portas netted his first of the season.

THE OPPOSITION

Grimsby Borough are in their second season at Step Four and are a respectable 10th after taking 37 points from 28 games. Although any sort of Play-Off appears to be out of the question with seven points separating them from 5th and the surrounding pack having games in hand.

Last time out they were 3-1 winners at Liversedge- an impressive result as both Stockton Town and Dunston have been beaten there this season.

Striker Edwin Essel is the man to watch. The former Grimsby Town man is Boro’s top scorer with 7 goals thus far.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES

Looking ahead to the game, Manager Michael Dunwell said: “We’re looking forward to it. We should have Kingy (Lewis King) back in the squad so we should be full strength.

“We would have had them (Grimsby Borough) watched but their game was called off but we’ll work on things in training and we will go to Grimsby looking for three points.”
