INTERVIEW | Jamie Bramwell post Workington

Stockton Town centre back Jamie Bramwell reacted to his side’s 6-0 victory over Workington on Tuesday, where the summer recruit found the target in the second-half.

Bramwell slotted home a lovely finish late into the game, after driving up the pitch and exchanging a slick one-two with Jack Spears.

The defender opened by exclaiming his delight over the result and his individual performance: “I’m buzzing. Hopefully we can carry this performance into upcoming games as the lads dug in deep and we were absolutely relentless.”

The 21-year-old followed by describing how well he has slotted into the Anchors backline: “They’re a really good group to join. We played the four on Saturday, three tonight and I don’t mind what formation we play, as long as we get the results and play our part in doing that then we’re happy.”

‘Brammers’ then looked back on his finish: “To be honest I don’t think I’ve ever got that high up the pitch in my life. I saw the space they were allowing me and I didn’t want to turn that down, and it ended up with me finding the net, so yeah, it’s great.”

He then took the time to credit the fans, in his first proper experience of the MAP Group UK Stadium: “They were very loud from start to finish, definitely helped find that result.”
Jamie closed by looking ahead to Saturday’s fixture, when Hyde United visit the MAP Group UK Stadium: “We’re all full of confidence after this game and that result, everyone was on the top of their game and hopefully we can all carry that into the weekend.”
