Jake Petitjean spoke to Stockton Town Club media following his side’s 3-1 victory over Warrington Rylands on Saturday.
The midfielder provided a goal and an assist enroute to the spectacular victory in the foul weather.
He opened with his assessment on the result: “It was a really good win.
“We all knew going into the game that it’ll be very tough, but as long as we worked hard, with the quality we’ve got, we knew we had a good chance.”
Petitjean scored a wonderful goal to add a crucial third for Stockton, taking on a number of Rylands defenders before slotting home calmly, which he describes by saying: “The goal just came naturally. Kev picked out the run, I’ve sat a few people down and finished it off, and I’m very pleased with that.”
He then takes the time to unwind on his first couple of months back at Stockton Town, stating: “It’s all been good. It’s easy too in a way, all of the lads are brilliant. They make it easy to be a part of the team, we always have a laugh, off the pitch it’s good and you see that teamwork on the pitch too, especially in games like today.
“I’m enjoying my football.”
Jake closed by looking ahead to Tuesday’s home game with Leek Town, where he said: “It’ll be another difficult game.
“I actually came down to watch the game last season against Leek Town and they looked really strong, so we know it’ll be difficult – but if we play anything like we did today, we’ll be in a good place.”
