Anchoresses hit the summit

Stockton Town Ladies moved to the summit of the Durham FA Women’s League One with a comprehensive victory over Darlington Spraire Ladies.

Kaitlyn Bell and recent arrival Olivia Banks both helped themselves to a hat trick, while Captain Micheala Garvey scored the other.

It completed the double over the Spraire Ladies, who succumbed to another 7-0 defeat in the opening fixture of the season.

“The Ladies managed the game well today,” Manager Chris Murphy reflected.

“I thought our defenders were excellent and restricted Darlington to long range efforts. We created goalscoring opportunities throughout the game and scored some excellent goals.”

“A special mention to Olivia Banks on her first-ever hat trick for the club and her first in Ladies football which resulted in her taking the player of the game award,”

The Anchoresses are back in action next Sunday 15th December when they make the trip to Newton Aycliffe.
