Stockton Town make their first away trip in this season’s Isuzu FA Trophy with a visit to NPL West Clitheroe.

The Anchors got the better of West division leaders Lower Breck in the previous round, at the MAP Group UK Stadium

Two goals from Michael Sweet helped the Anchors to a 2-0 victory back in early October.

But last time out, Stockton fell to a defeat against Ashton United, losing 2-1 at home despite a brilliant goal from Josh Scott.

THE OPPOSITION

Clitheroe currently sit 14th in the NPL West Division, with 16 points from their opening 12 matches.

The Blues enter the match following a defeat at Nantwich Town in midweek, which followed a strong 3-1 win away to Darlaston Town.

On Thursday, Clitheroe secured the signature of talented youngster Jack Morris from AFC Fylde, after making his National League North debut earlier in the season.

Lewis Gill is the main man up front for Sean McConville’s side. He has scored three goals in the past week alone, with a brace against Darlaston and a goal against Nantwich.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

This will mark the first ever matchup between the two sides, marking another new ground for Anchors fans to visit.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES

Stockton Town Manager Michael Dunwell provided his assessment ahead of the clash following defeat last weekend, stating:

“We’re looking forward to it. A team we’ve never played, a ground we’ve never been to. Players are excited and we’ve got to put today behind us and go there looking to get into the next round.

“It’ll certainly be tough, we’ve played two teams from their league already and they’ve both been very difficult and we’ll be picking a team that can go and win there.”
