Layton Watts has provided his first thoughts after joining Stockton Town.
On joining the club, Layton states his excitement: “I’m really excited. It’s a great club with a great following and they do well every season, so I’m really looking forward to getting started.”
The midfielder then explains his thoughts behind the decision to join the club: “As soon as Michael got in touch it was a no brainer for me really. It’s something a lot of players want to be part of here at Stockton, with a very good side and always find themselves fighting at the top end of the table and it’s something I want to be involved in. I know the chemistry here is good, as well as the outright talent.”
He also picks up on his connections with the squad from his time playing around the North East: “I know a few of the lads just from our clashes over the years, but I had a good connection with Josh [Scott] at West Auckland and enjoyed that. We linked up well, quite similar players in our work rates and it’s good to be back alongside him.”
Finally, Watts closes with a detailed analysis of his style of play, giving Anchors fans an insight on what to look forward too: “I provide a lot of energy, I create chances, give 100% week in, week out and will pop up with a couple of goals too.”
