Stockton Town take their Pre-Season preparations on the road as they make the short journey to Horden.

The Anchors were originally scheduled to face the Marras on Friday evening but a depleted squad for Stockton meant the game was put back to Tuesday.

Stockton put up a decent display in their last Pre-Season outing but lost out 3-1 to National League North Darlington.

Josh Scott added to his Pre-Season tally with an equaliser in the first half.

Horden are at the end of their Pre-Season campaign with them set to kick off their Northern League season with the visit of Crook Town.

Jonny Payne’s men had a strong return to Division One as they recorded an 11th-place finish and reached the Semi-Final of the Durham Challenge Cup where they were beaten 5-0 at Stockton.

Sixteen of the players from that squad have been retained for the upcoming season. There have also been five new additions to strengthen the squad.

Full-back Lewis Cowan arrived after impressing at Seaham and FC Hartlepool. Midfielder Josh Daley also signed after serving as Captain at FC Hartlepool. Defender Cal Williams adds a wealth of experience having played at higher level for Gateshead, Spennymoor Town and Morpeth Town. There’s also been an investment in the future with the arrival of Oliver Dixon formerly of Durham United and 17-year-old attacking midfielder Finlay Elsdon who has played for Boro Rangers.

It will be Stockton Town’s first trip back to Horden’s Welfare Park since April 2015 when they twice came from behind to win 4-2. A certain Macaulay Langstaff scored for the Anchors that day.
