An early goal saw Stockton Town fall to defeat against Guisborough Town at the MAP Group UK Stadium.Â
Niall Frampton got the start in goal, while Dan McWilliams made his return to the starting XI.
The Priorymen took the lead when they were afforded time in the box to turn and tuck the ball away.
They almost had a second in the 20th minute when some neat work ended in a shot that was fired against crossbar.
Shortly before half time, Cameron Painter had a header from a corner stopped on the goalline.
The Anchors pushed for an equaliser in the second half. Kev Hayes had a strike that cannoned off the post.
Things got slightly heated after the hour mark following a two-footed challenge on Michael Fowler. Tom Portas got a booking for dissent as a result. There was also a yellow card for the offending Guisborough player.
Later in the half, Hayes had a header cleared away and Painter was denied from an overhead kick.
In the end Guisborough held on for the win.
Stockton Town continue their Pre-Season preparations with a home game against Sunderland RCA.
