Anchors Good Form continues…..

Anchors Good Form continued to make it 4 wins in the last 5 games with another excellent attacking performance filled with pace and quality against a highly rated Dunston UTS side who’d themselves won 8 in a row before tonight. Dunston contributed to another thrilling game for the spectators but Town’s defence was outstanding on the evening.

The ever impressive Kevin Hayes was switched to the right tonight and was just as effective at terrorising the Dunston defence, scoring the first and making the second for Carter within the space of 5 minutes in the first half. With the only blemish being a loss of concentration allowing a Dunston goal on the stroke of half time. Saturdays hat trick hero Chris Stockton continued where he left off and restored the 2 goal advantage after 54 minutes, with what was his 100th goal in senior football for the club.
Dunston had their moments and pushed really hard in the second half to get back into the game with several efforts at goal including 2 or 3 dangerous free kicks and Fitzpatrick an ever present threat, however Stockton’s defence of Carter, Cossavella, Poole and Ward all produced fine performances and denied Dunston the space they required. Arthur backed it all up with another superb display between the sticks. Coleman and Owens both had chances to finish it off late on but despite that the Anchors fans went home smiling again. Another tough match upcoming this Saturday but surely no-one is relishing facing this Stockton team in the form they’re in right now…… Lets hope it continues
