‘Stocko’s on Fire’ as First Team clinch Vase victory in final seconds

Stockton Town grabbed a dramatic victory in the final seconds of extra time today with a strike by sub Chris Stockton breaking Consett’s hearts

Both teams met here last month and played out another seven goal thriller but this was even better, Consett’s Danny Craggs and Chris Stockton for the anchors both hit hat tricks in a game littered with goals, chances, brilliant saves and a controversial penalty for Consett which Arthur saved.

Stockton went behind after 2 minutes before Carter equalised on 21, Consett were awarded a controversial penalty just before half time but it was brilliantly saved by Arthur. However Consett did finally go ahead half way through the second half but sub Chris Stockton made it 2-2 a few minutes later with what was just about his first touch. Extra time brought an early goal for Consett and a threat that they might finish it off but Stockton converted Colemans cross to bring the Anchors level again. Then in injury time with a replay on the cards, Chris Stockton fired home to seal the victory and send the Anchors fans home happy and kick off huge celebrations from the whole team subs and all.
