Anchors Midfielder Shane Henry said he feels ‘back at the levels he is capable’ after Saturday’s 2-0 win over Sheffield FC.Â
Henry played the majority of the win at the World’s Oldest Football Club before he was brought off in stoppage time for Nathan Mulligan.
Speaking after the win, Henry said: “I feel like for the first time today I have reached the levels that I know I am capable and I am delighted.
“I finally feel back. We’ll keep going this season and pushing for promotion.”
The victory over Sheffield FC was a vital one as it kept the Anchors among the pack vying for top spot in the league. Typically as the weather becomes harsh, it was the sort of game that required a huge team effort.
Henry said: “Tight game. It’s a tough league. There’s just moments in games and I feel we have had the better moments and come away with the three points.
“Now that the weather has changed there will be a few more difficult games.”
The big games keep coming for the Anchors with two huge home games this week against Gateshead in the Durham Challenge Cup and Belper Town in the league.
Henry looked forward: “Going up against Gateshead will be a good game for us. We want to try and win the cup. It will be interesting to see what team Gateshead put out as they play in the National League.”
