The Northern Premier League East allocations for the 2022/23 season have been announced by the FA, subject to final ratification and appeals.
Stockton Town finished fourth in their first season at Step 4 and made it to the play-off final, where they were edged out 2-1 by neighbours Marske United.
The Anchors have found out their opposition for the new season, pending any changes, with the league expanding back to 20 teams – including five promoted sides and one relegated from the Premier Division.
Of the six new sides in the East Division, Consett and North Shields are two that are very familiar to the Anchors, having played each other in the Northern League.
Stockton last faced the Steelmen back in October 2020 – ending in a 4-1 win – and the last meeting with the Robins ended in a 1-1 draw in December 2019.
With those two sides coming up to Step 4, supporters can look forward to derby games against five North East opposition in the 2022/23 campaign.
The Anchors can look forward to trips to four new grounds in the 2022/23 campaign. Carlton Town, Grantham Town, Grimsby Borough and Long Eaton United will all be new opposition for Dunwell’s side.
