Our 1st Team Manager Michael Dunwell shared his views on the recent additions to his squad for next season.
We were delighted when the opportunity arose to re-sign Dale after his spell at Shildon. Once we knew he was available we quickly moved to bring him back. After speaking to Dale you could tell in his voice there was only one club he wanted to come to… it makes it a lot easier when you don’t really have to persuade a player or sell the club to him. Dale will bring experience, professionalism and a great attitude and will provide much needed competition and cover for Adam and Tom. I’m looking forward to working with Dale again hopefully very soon.
When we heard Shane might be available to sign from Spennymoor, there was only one thing in our mind and that was to bring him to his hometown club. Everyone knows Shane has been a regular in a very successful team, at a high level for such a long time, so to sign someone of his calibre just shows the ambition of our club.
When speaking to Shane he expressed his desire to help do with Stockton what he has done with Spennymoor. He knows our aims are to play at higher levels and that helped sway the move. Shane will add quality and experience from playing at a higher level and will make the squad even stronger than it already is.
