Michael Dunwell: Players On Track Ahead Of Railway Clash

Anchors boss Michael Dunwell believes his side’s preparations for tomorrow night’s friendly against Darlington Railway have been thorough as they look to bounce back from defeat against National League North giants Spennymoor Town.

Stockton gave their quality opponents more than their fair share of problems in front of a 330-plus crowd last week, but Dunwell is confident his side’s practice on the training ground bodes well ahead of Darlo’s visit to Bishopton Road.

“Preparations have gone really well,” he told stocktontownfc.com.

“The players have looked really sharp in training and are looking forward to another game of football. DunnersPhoto1“Since the Spennymoor game we have worked on things in training that we know we need to do better, but it was our first game against a team three divisions higher, which included players with an abundance of experience.

“It’s all about being ready and focused for the Guisborough game, which we will be.”

Town have welcomed a number of new signings to the club over the summer, including former Guisborough defender Jamie Poole and ex-Whitby Town midfielder Nathan Mulligan, and the gaffer is pleased with their transition into the Stockton fold.

“All the new boys have settled into the group really well and are looking forward to the challenge ahead.

“We’re not looking for any incomings at the minute, unless we have a run of injuries. Obviously if someone became available that we thought could improve our squad, then it is something we may look at.”
