Michael Arthur departs Anchors

Long-serving goalkeeper Michael Arthur has joined Crook Town.

Known to the fans as ‘Martha’, Arthur joined Stockton Town in 2012 from Billingham Town. He originally started out as an outfield player before donning the gloves after previous experience as a goalkeeper.

He became a pivotal part of the side and his first season ended with a Wearside League title. More success came as he won a further three Wearside League titles and helped the club gain promotion to the Northern League.

Another title followed as the Anchors won the Division Two title and gained promotion to Division One.

His finest hour came during the FA Vase run in 2017-18 when his two ‘man of the match’ performances against Marske United saw the Anchors reach Wembley.

We would like to thank Michael for his time at the club and wish him the very best for his future.
