Jarrow FC v Stockton Town FC

Stockton travelled to Jarrow without top scorer Kallum Hannah, who was rested with more important games to come but saw the return of Stav Roberts to the squad and starts for youngsters Sonni Coleman and Macca Langstaff.

Stockton dominated this game and put plenty of balls into the box, but no Stockton player could put the ball in the net.

After 17 minutes Tom Coulthard crossed the ball this resulted in a goalmouth scramble that defender Paul Burrell eventually cleared the ball off the line.

The breakthrough eventually arrived after 44 minutes Chris Stockton fired the ball from the edge of the box, that goalkeeper Gary Frater managed to tip the ball over the bar, from the resulting corner Adam Nicholson headed the ball in for Stockton’s 600th goal in league and cup competitions.

The second half continued in the same vain as Stockton looked to increase their lead.

Frater again pulled off a fine save from Chris Stockton after 56 minutes and he was in action again from Max Craggs after 58 minutes.

In a dramatic end to this game Jarrow were reduced to 10 men when ex Thornaby player Darren Morton was shown a 2nd yellow card after 83 minutes.

Stockton eventually got the 2nd goal they deserved, when James Ward won the ball and ran to the edge of the box before firing his shot that went in off the post after 86 minutes for Stockton Town’s 100th league goal of this season.

Stockton were court napping after 88 minutes when they conceded for the first time in 2015 and after 768 minutes of play Michal Arthur was eventually beaten, Stockton only half cleared the ball that fell at the feet of Andrew Wilkinson who ran into the box and fired the ball past Arthur.

Stockton then saw out the rest of the game to complete our 6th double of the season and retained top spot in the League Table.
