Stockton Town face the finale of their Pre-Season preparations with a visit to league opponents Whitby Town.
It was another convincing victory last time out for the Anchors, overcoming the difficult test of Bishop Auckland, winning 3-1 last Friday evening.
A brace from Stephen Thompson and another goal from youngster Jack Spears solidified a positive result in another strong Stockton performance.
It all gets real now. One more pre-season game until the Anchors start their first ever step-three campaign against Leek Town on Saturday, and supporters can book their place on the supporters coach to cheer the Anchors on through the M&D Travel website or via our social media.
THE OPPOSITION
Whitby Town have been a reliable force in the Northern Premier League for a good number of years, and will be looking to improve on their 12th place finish from last season.
It’s now less than a month until the two sides meet for real at the MAP Group UK Stadium, when Whitby visit in the league on 26th August.
Whitby boast a very talented squad for the division, which has been severely strengthened this summer.
Notably former Hartlepool and South Shields legend Gary Liddle, and experienced striker Jake Charles from Scarborough, who has been on fire for the Seasiders in pre-season.Also in Nathan Haslam’s squad is former Middlesbrough prodigy’s Stephen Walker, Frankie Whelan and Alfie Doherty, EFL veteran Nathan Thomas and the recently re-acquired experienced centre back Jaseem Sukar among many other talents.
Similar to the Anchors, Whitby close their pre-season campaign with this clash. They have faced some challenging tests thus far, but have came out with some impressive results, including a 1-1 draw with Spennymoor Town last time out.
