LIVE COMMENTARY: Anchors Radio (mixlr.com)
Stockton Town are back on their travels when they make the trip across to Workington.
The Anchors ended their four-game home run with seven points following a dramatic 1-0 win over Leek Town on Wednesday night. Tom Coulthard’s stoppage time winner sealed it for the Anchors who had Captain Adam Nicholson sent off during the goal celebrations.
It was an excellent way to bounce back from a sub par defeat to Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday and keep them within touching distance of the Play-Off places.
Glen Butterworth will return to the squad after missing Wednesday through injury.
THE OPPOSITION
Workington are in their second season back in the Northern Premier League Premier Division after gaining promotion via the NPL West Division Play-Offs in 2022.
Manager Mark Fell, currently in his first season in charge, has the Reds in 14th after taking 33 points from 27 games.
Last time out they earned an impressive 3-1 win at Whitby Town thanks to goals from David Symington, Kai Nugent and Steven Rigg. That was only their third win on their travels this season.
They have been markedly better at Borough Park this season taking 22 of their 33 points on home turf. That puts eighth overall in the home performance table.
In their last home game they overcame an in-form Matlock Town with a 4-2 win.
The aforementioned Rigg is the talisman for Workington. The former EFL striker has 18 for the season.
Symington, who missed the reverse fixture, is also an experienced head in midfield and also boasts EFL experience.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES
Speaking after the win over Leek, Michael Duwnell looked ahead to the trip across to Workington:
“I know we had a great result against them here but that means nothing. Workington are really good at home, so it’s going to be a really tough game.
“Hopefully we can put in a good performance like we did tonight (against Leek) and come away with the points.”
