Stockton Town are in midweek Pre-Season action when they host Sunderland RCA.
The Anchors come into the game following a 1-0 defeat to Guisborough Town on Saturday. The Priorymen scored early on and held for the win despite a Stockton push in the second half.
Pre-Season is for giving players minutes and that’s what the Anchors did on Saturday by playing new goalkeeper Niall Frampton throughout.

There have been twelve meetings between Stockton Town and Sunderland RCA in total. Last time the two sides played, Stockton Town were 4-2 winners in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round.

THE OPPOSITION
Since their last meeting with Stockton Town in November 2022, Sunderland RCA now have a new manager in place with former Billingham Synthonia manager Dave Dickson at the helm.
This will be the final friendly for Sunderland RCA ahead of their season which kicks off on Saturday with a home game against Newcastle Benfield.
They have played four Pre-Season games so far and have even won a trophy by defeating Horden CW 3-2 in the Robert Alderson Trophy at Esh Winning. They beat the hosts 2-1 in their opening Pre-Season game to reach the final.

Looking ahead to the game, Assistant Manager JD Briggs said:
“I expect Sunderland RCA to be a robust team that want to get themselves right. I expect they will take it a little bit easy because their season starts on the following Saturday.
“We need to look a lot more ruthless going forward and be tighter at the back.”
