Stockton Town begin their Pre-Season campaign this afternoon when they welcome National League North Scarborough Athletic to the MAP Group UK Stadium.Â
It has been just over two months since the Anchors were last in action- a devastating penalty shootout defeat to Long Eaton United in the Northern Premier League East Division Play-Off Final.
Since then three new signings have been added in strikers Michael Sweet and Michael Fowler in addition to goalkeeper Niall Frampton. There have also been departures in Liam Cooke, Louie Hall, Lewis McDonald and Matty Tymon.
Michael Dunwell has a squad of 20 for today’s game which includes two trialists.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Stockton Town and Scarborough Athletic met in last Pre-Season when the Anchors were 3-1 victors at the Flamingo Land Stadium.

THE OPPOSITION
Scarborough Athletic enjoyed a strong debut season in the National North with 8th-placed finish. That saw them narrowly miss out on the Play-Offs by goal difference.
On Tuesday night they began their Pre-Season campaign with a 6-0 win over NCEL Division One outfit Selby Town. New signing Frank Mulhern made his mark with a brace.
New arrivals also include defender Alex Brown from Chester and attacking midfielders Alex Purver and Harry Green.
VIEW FROM THE OPPOSITIONÂ
Speaking after their 6-0 win over Selby Town, Scarborough Athletic manager Jonathan Greening said:
“We have got Stockton at the weekend which will probably be a tougher game- no disrespect to Selby- but they have got some quality players so it will be a different test.
“Hopefully we will put on another performance like that and keep working hard.”
PRE-MATCH QUOTES
Speaking ahead of the game, Manager Michael Dunwell said:
“Excited to start another season in what is mine and JD’s (Briggs) 10th season here.”
“We’ve only been back 3 sessions so really just looking for players to get rid of the rustiness and get minutes into their legs. These early games especially are all about fitness and getting used to the ball again building up to August 12th.
“Looking forward to what will be another exciting season.”
