Stockton Town begin February at home as they welcome Lincoln United to the MAP Group UK Stadium.

The Anchors produced an encouraging performance last Saturday at Long Eaton United in a 1-1 draw. They controlled large swathes of the game and had the better of the chances. Despite that, Long Eaton took the lead but Stockton managed an instant reply through Matty Tymon.

It was a good response following a tough defeat against Pontefract Collieries in their last home game. They had lead 2-0 at the break but three second half goals from the visitors turned the game in their favour.

Stockton are in search of their first win at home since November 19th when they thrashed Sheffield FC 6-0.

THE OPPOSITION

Manager Chris Funnell is in his first full season in charge of Lincoln United and he has turned them into a comfortable mid table side after saving them from relegation last season.

Since the end of October, Lincoln have lost just once in the 11 games they have played. They have earned notable away wins- 4-1 at Carlton Town and 3-1 at Bridlington Town.

Striker Matthew Cotton has been among the goals again this season and has 12 to his name.

Last time out they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Brighouse Town at home.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES

Looking ahead to the game, Manager Michael Dunwell said:

“We have got to be a lot better at home. I think we have not been as good at home this season as we have been. Especially after last week (v Pontefract Collieries) when we were 2-0 up at half time. We have got to see games out when we are in front.

“It will be another tough game but if we can build on that performance today (v Long Eaton United) and put the ball in the net when we get chances because we have defended well.

“There was a lot positives that we can bring into the Lincoln game.”
