Stockton Town return to home action when they welcome Grantham Town to the MAP Group UK Stadium.

The Anchors have played three away games since their last home game. In those games they have picked up five points with a win at Cleethorpes Town sandwiched between two draws against North East opponents North Shields and Dunston UTS.

That has stretched the unbeaten run to five games which began at the end of January with a 1-1 draw at Long Eaton United.

In that time, Stockton have suffered some significant injuries. Mikey Roberts was ruled out for a minimum of six weeks with an ankle fracture following the draw at North Shields. Liam Cooke has also been side-lined for some time after suffering a broken jaw which requires surgery.

To help with the decreased options in forward positions, Isaac Walker has been brought in on a one-month loan deal from Blyth Spartans. The winger had a prolific spell with Redcar Athletic before transferring to Croft Park in November.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The two sides have only met once in the reverse fixture at Grantham Town.

THE OPPOSITION

Despite being one of the pre-season favourites to go up, Grantham Town find themselves near the wrong end of the table in 17th.

They have managed to open up a gap to the relegation with some valuable victories. In their last league outing they beat Brighouse Town 3-0 at home. Former Nottingham Forest and Derby County striker Nathan Tyson netted brace. The other goal was scored by recent signing Chris O’Grady who also boasts EFL experience with Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton Wanderers to name a few.

They have more EFL experience in their squad with defenders Matt Tootle who played for Notts County and Jake Wright who turned out for Sheffield United.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES

Speaking after the game at Dunston UTS, Manager Michael Dunwell said:

“We’re on a good run and we have had three tough away games in North Shields, Cleethorpes and Dunston and we have come out undefeated.

“That’s another game chalked off and we have only got nine to go. I think four or five of them at home so if we can make them count we should be in a really good position.”
