Stockton Town have a midweek outing as they host Gateshead in the Durham Challenge Cup Second Round.

The Anchors have secured back-to-back victories over Winterton Rangers and Sheffield FC to begin November.

In the most recent win at Sheffield FC, Michael Fowler returned to the scoresheet with the opener and Kev Hayes extended his lead at the top of the Anchors scoring chart with a penalty.

Stockton reached this round with an emphatic 5-0 win over Chester-Le-Street Town in the First Round. All five goals came in the second half as they brushed aside the Northern League Division Two outfit.

This is the first meeting between the two clubs.

Last Game: Gateshead 6-0 Dorking Wanderers

Ashington manager Ian Skinner who also serves as a Gateshead Youth Team coach will be in charge of the Heed.

In their First Round victory at Dunston UTS five First-Team players were named in Starting XI.

Aidan Rutledge scored a hattrick and Billy Chadwick scored a brace in that 5-2 victory.

Chadwick hit a hattrick on Saturday in the 6-0 win over Dorking Wanderers. That win put them up to 7th in the National League.

Gateshead are previous Durham Challenge Cup winners. They claimed the title in 2011 as the Reserve side with win over Dunston UTS.

Looking ahead to the game, Manager Michael Dunwell said:

“It’s the Durham Challenge Cup and at the start of the season it is competition we said we would like to win.

“Hebburn went to the Stadium of Light last season and beat Spennymoor in the final. It is a realistic cup that you can win.”
