Stockton Town make the trip to Merseyside looking to consolidate their Play-Off place against Prescot Cables.
The Anchors produced an eye-catching result last Saturday when they beat Worksop Town.
Aided by a red card for Hamza Bencherif, Stockton abruptly ended the Tigers hunt for a tenth-straight win with a convincing 3-0 display.
Michael Dunwell will again be without Kev Hayes who serves the final match of his three-game ban. Glen Butterworth will also be out due to a groin injury.
THE OPPOSITION
Prescot Cables are on a high after last Saturday’s 3-2 win at Gainsborough Trinity secured their safety in their return season to NPL Premier Division.
It is an amazing achievement for the Cables who were written off before a ball had been kicked due to a turbulent summer which saw manager Steve Daley depart and return within weeks.
Last Saturday’s win in Lincolnshire was only their fifth on their travels this season. However at their Valerie Park home they have been one of the best in the division and boast the league’s 6th best home record- only one place behind Stockton.
Notable players to look out for in the Cables squad are John Murphy and James Foley who are into double figures with goals. The former bagged 24 goals last season as the club gained promotion from the NPL West Division via the Play-Offs. He broke his his almost three-month wait for that decisive tenth goal in last week’s win.
Midfield Francis Smith is also worth keeping tabs on for his eye for a spectacular goal.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES
Looking ahead to the game, Michael Dunwell said:
“We forward to the game after we had another excellent win and performance last week against Worksop and are still in a strong position for the Play-Offs.
“But we can’t get complacent especially against Prescot who are in great form too.
” We know it’ll be a tough game as they’ve been really good at home and gave us a difficult game at home which we just edged.
“At the moment we aren’t giving goals away and look sharp going forward so are going into the game really confident.”
