THE OPPOSITION

North Shields won promotion to the Northern Premier League East last season after winning the Northern League, after narrowly missing out on promotion with the Anchors the year before on the points per game standings.

It’s been an up and down season for the Robins, who currently sit above the relegation playoff spots on goal difference. Despite a positive start the season, winning three of their opening seven games, but North Shields’ last win came all the way back on October 22nd against Carlton Town.

Attackers Cameron Cunningham and Reagan Paterson are the main men for North Shields, with Cameron scoring six and Regan with seven goals in all competitions so far this season.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES

Anchors assistant manager JD Briggs spoke after the Lincoln United game and said:

“We’re looking forward to it, obviously the confidence will be high. Unfortunately we have a couple of players unavailable but we do have other players that can step in.

“I feel like we’re confident now so we can go on a little run, if we can take another three points [today] it goes into the two big games with Dunston and Cleethorpes in a real positive frame.”
