THE OPPOSITION
Consett are coming to the close of their debut season at Step Four and are comfortably in mid table.
On Saturday they took an early lead through Nathan Greenwood but two second half goals from Carlton Town condemned them to defeat.
They had secured back-to-back home wins with a 3-0 win over Sheffield FC last Saturday followed up by a 3-2 win over Cleethorpes Town last Tuesday night.
That was the first time they had secured consecutive victories since early February when they beat Stocksbridge Park Steels and Shildon.
The Steelmen shared the goals around as they had six different goalscorers over the two fixtures.
Zak Atkinson is the one to watch for Consett, with 12 goals he is the only player to hit double figures for them this season.
PRE-MATCH QUOTES
Looking ahead to the game, Manager Michael Dunwell said:
“Not long to rest but that’s same for everyone else is in the same boat. Looking at the squad it doesn’t look like we have any fresh injuries there which is good.
“Liam Cooke has come back into the squad today, Mikey Roberts is back and Elliott Beddow will be back on Monday. We are more or less at full strength.
“We are in a really good position and we are just looking to finish off the season really strong now and try to get that second place.”
