Stockton Town make the trip to Lincolnshire for the rearranged fixture at Cleethorpes Town.

The Anchors were originally scheduled to make the trip back on December 10th but the game was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

In midweek Stockton drew 1-1 at North Shields. Cam Cunningham’s strike on the half hour mark put the home side into the lead before Mikey Roberts levelled shortly before half-time.

Unfortunately for Stockton, Mikey Roberts suffered a fractured ankle and has been ruled out for minimum of six weeks.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The sides have met four times since the Anchors’ promotion in 2021, with Cleethorpes winning once and Stockton winning twice, as well as a draw late last season.

THE OPPOSITION

Cleethorpes Town are now under the management of Nathan Arnold who took the job in early November. They are currently just outside the Play-Off places on goal difference with 39 points from 25 games.

In midweek they earned a valuable 3-1 win over Grantham Town at home. Goals from Curtis Batetson, Tom Jamieson and Declan Howe made it a comfortable night.

Howe continued his strong season with his 14 goal of the season- making him Cleethorpes top scorer.

It built on their quality away point last Saturday when they held runaway league-leaders Worksop Town to a goalless draw.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES

Speaking ahead of the game, Manager Michael Dunwell said:

“It will be a tough game every time we’ve played them the games have been really tight. They’re pushing for the play offs and we are looking to finish as high as possible. You could say it’s a six pointer.

“We have played really well the last three games should’ve have had more points from them because the performances deserved it. We are creating lots of chances again and once we start putting them away earlier we can then manage the games easier.”
