Stockton Town are back on the road as they make the trip North to take on Ashington.Â
The Anchors returned to winning ways last Saturday with a 3-0 victory over North Ferriby. Michael Sweet got Stockton rolling with an early before second half goals from Mikey Roberts and Glen Butterworth sealed it.
It was an excellent answer to back-to-back 2-0 defeats which they had suffered at Pontefract Collieries in the league and then at home to Bootle in the FA Trophy.
Stockton will be boosted this Saturday with the return of Shane Henry to the squad, who has spent over a year side-lined.

THE OPPOSITION
Ashington are newly promoted to the Northern Premier League after they beat Glossop North End in their Inter-Step Play-Off at the end of last season.
They currently find themselves in 17th with seven points from their first eight games. Last time out they battled well with an understrength side but fell to a 1-0 defeat at Cleethorpes Town.
During their last home league outing they earned their most impressive result of the season with a 3-1 win over North East rivals Dunston UTS. Recent signing Paul Van Zandvliet netted a brace in that game.
PRE-MATCH QUOTESÂ
Looking ahead to the game, Manager Michael Dunwell said:
“We are looking to build on our excellent win and performance from last week against North Ferriby.
“This is the start of a tough month and Ashington are very good at home. It’ll be a difficult game but one that may suit us as Ashington like to play also as we seen in the FA Cup earlier this season.
“If we can provide the same work rate and organisation that we did last time out we are confident of winning and pushing further up the table.”
