Introducing: Jamie Bramwell

Central defender Jamie Bramwell has been confirmed as the Anchors’ fourth summer addition, joining Amar Purewal, Jake Petitjean and Vinnie Steels as our newest recruits.

Bramwell grew up in Newcastle United’s academy set-up, before moving to Grimsby Town in 2020, eventually signing his first professional deal in 2022 at 18 years old.

Jamie made four first team appearances across two seasons in the National League and League Two, briefly playing alongside current Anchor Owen Gallacher for the Mariners.

During his time on the Lincolnshire coast, Bramwell enjoyed three successful loan stints in the NPL with Gainsborough Trinity, and twice with Whitby Town.

In summer of 2024, Bramwell returned back to the North East, joining Gateshead as the Heed looked to push for the playoffs. The towering defender spent the beginning of the 24/25 season on loan at South Shields, making 19 appearances before heading back to Gateshead.

Jamie enjoyed a successful spell in the side towards the end of the season, making six total appearances, and even finding the target in a game against Hartlepool United.

Now, the 21-year-old joins the Anchors, looking to further solidify what was one of the best defences in the NPL last season.
