Callum Bone spoke to club media after finding the target for the first time in Stockton colours against Bamber Bridge.
The 17-year-old Gateshead loanee was a second-half substitute, and added a fifth goal at a crucial moment to nullify a late threat from the visitors.
When describing his finish, he states: “I saw the ball coming and knew I would be in, I looked up and saw the ‘keeper racing out and was expecting a difficult 50/50, but when I got around him there was defenders back, so I composed myself and looked for the opening to finish.”
Looking back on his loan spell with Stockton as a whole, Callum comments: “I’ve enjoyed playing.
“It’s a good group of lads, it’s been good for my fitness, I’ve been playing freely and I’m glad I could help with a goal.”
The midfielder then assesses the goal as a whole: “It was tough. The game switched when I came on, they found the front foot and we were defending, then went down to 10 men, but we got a bit frustrated with the goals we conceded so it was good that my goal sealed it for us.”
With the original month of his loan spell coming to an end, Callum sends a message to the Club should he have played his last game for the Anchors: “Good luck to everyone, it’s a great group and keep supporting the boys because days like today you can see the difference that’s made.”
