Amar Purewal spoke to Club media after the Anchors jumped back into the playoff positions with a point against Lancaster City.
Amar started the game alongside Josh Scott in a change of setup, which the forward comments on, stating: “We did it at the start of the season and I’m quite comfortable with it.
“A player such as myself is only as good as your service, and in the first half the service was good. Josh was everywhere helping out, and we were putting balls into good areas which is what lead to that goal.”
Along with his brother, Amar is a proud Coventry City fan, and he explains how the Sky Blues’ promotion on Friday night helped his mood going into the game after a difficult week for the Anchors: “It definitely gave me a spring in my step. I was buzzing going to bed last night and the mood definitely carried over.”
Purewal then addresses the importance of being back in the playoff positions with just two games of action remaining for his side: “We’re buoyant. We know what we have to go and do now and it’s a lot better to be in that position than having to rely elsewhere.
“We know that we need some more points from the two tough games we have left. We’re all positive that we can achieve that.
Previewing the Anchors’ final two games, on the road at FC United of Manchester and Warrington Rylands, Amar states: “We’re confident.
“For myself it’s definitely been difficult this season, being in and out of the side, but I’m always ready when called upon and we’re all going to go into these last two games with everything we’ve got.”
Stockton now sit in that final playoff spot, fighting with Lancaster City and Gainsborough Trinity for that lone remaining position, but the trailing sides only have one game to go.
