Stockton Town can confirm forward Gary Mitchell has joined Northallerton Town on a one-month loan deal.
The 18-year-old was promoted to the senior squad with the Anchors following an impressive season with the U18’s, helping Liam Cox’s side to the JPL National Cup Final in June 2021.
Mitchell made his senior Stockton debut in September 2020 as a late substitute during a 2-0 victory against Whitley Bay in the MAP Group UK Stadium.
Assistant Manager JD Briggs commented on the move, saying: “It’s ideal for Gary to go and play for a month at a decent standard.
“It’s good for all parties really, he gets some much needed minutes and game time, we get to see how he performs over that time and Northallerton get an excellent addition to their squad for a short period to help them out.”
Mitchell netted on his debut for the Northern League Division One club, opening the scoring in a 2-2 draw with Bishop Auckland at the Calvert Stadium.
“He’s started really well, scoring at the weekend and was good in training last night so it’s started really well for him”, Briggs continued.
Stockton Town wish Gary the best of luck during his loan spell and look forward to monitoring his progress.
