The Club is currently trying to digest where it finds itself following the information received this afternoon from The FA regarding the conclusion of the current season and the decision that there will be no promotion or relegation and all records and results will be expunged.
Quite honestly we are in shock at the race to conclude this season and even more perplexed at the decisions made regarding promotion and relegation when nearly 80% of the season had been played.
So the Club now not only finds itself in a fight for survival, given Covid 19, but having to deal with the emotional consequences this will have on players, management, sponsors, volunteers and spectators and our ability to retain them. The Club has invested many thousands on pounds over the last two years to achieve promotion, including further monies in the last few weeks on propriety work. We have never at any point been consulted.
We are well aware that there are many other challenges for our community at the moment but this Football Club has to fight for what is right even at times like this and we feel a great injustice. We will be contacting various bodies including The FA on this, as a matter of urgency and will endeavour to keep you informed.
