Stockton were second best most of the night to a Benfield team who seemed to thrive on the slick flat surface. First half goals from the outstanding Dale Pearson and Orrell were the least Benfield deserved as they dominated at times and created several chances. Stockton had a little spell just before the Lions took the lead but couldn’t quite find a finish which might have changed the game around. Second half saw The Anchors try to push on and the game was a bit more even but they struggled to get up a head of steam and Benfield picked them off on the break on several occasions one of these led to a Red card for the unfortunate Dale Mulligan when he accidentally caught Braysons heels as he got in behind and Brayson slotted home the resulting penalty. Tough day at the office for Stockton who need a boost quickly.
