Stockton Town have been drawn away to Sunderland RCA in Emirates FA Cup First Qualifying Round.
The Anchors will travel to the Northern League Division One side on Saturday 4 September at Sunderland LGV Park.
Michael Dunwell’s side will go up against very familiar opponents in the FA Cup, having faced RCA 10 times in their history, winning seven of the meetings and losing three.
Stockton’s last visit to LGV Park saw the Anchors lose for just the second time in 40 Northern League matches, former Middlesbrough youngster Layton Watts scored the only goal that evening.
Jamie Owens scored the only goal just before the hour mark as Stockton beat Ossett United 1-0 in front of a crowd of 476 in the Preliminary Round on Saturday.
Dunwell’s side progressed to the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup during the 2020/21 season, losing out 1-0 to Northern League outfit Consett AFC 1-0 in September 2020.
The Anchors’ best run in the FA Cup came during the 2019/20 season, progressing through three rounds before exiting to National League North side Guiseley AFC in sweltering conditions in September 2019.
Sunderland RCA have beaten Bishop Auckland and Frickley Athletic to get to this stage, and their record run in the competition was to the Third Qualifying Round during the 1997/98 campaign.
